THE BUSINESS
This accounting practice primarily does general and subsidiary ledger record keeping, prepares payrolls and related government forms, prepares financial statements and supporting schedules and generally gets the books ready for other third party professional practitioners to complete either tax return preparation and/or audits. All work is performed by the seller who is a CPA with prior tax return and audit experience. The work is performed in the offices of about 20 current clients. Two of the largest clients each account for about 9% of total revenues. The customer list ranges from lawyers, to construction contractors, to retail sales, to service providers and non-profit organizations. To serve the client list, the purchaser will need a thorough understanding of the following software programs: QuickBooks, QuickBooks POS, Peachtree and Excel.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Several large CPA firms no longer have the ability/desire to service all of their clients’ bookkeeping needs. Many of these firms are trying to outsource this function. A buyer could quickly expand from the acquired foundation of clients to a larger group of accounting services.
THE REASON FOR SELLING
The Seller is relocating.
