THE COMPANY
Book City is the area’s largest source of used books with a current inventory of 61,000 books. The company relocated to the 10,000 square foot location across from the Grand Teton Mall in June of 2007, at which time sales grew from 14,000 to 18,000 per month. The company has built out the marketing of the merchandise with quality, professional book cases enhancing customer experience. Book City has been growing in Idaho Falls for over three years and the repeat and loyal customer base of 3,000 continues to grow. Book City’s inventory of current books with in-depth holdings by popular authors is unique for used book stores. The store is also the destination for popular LDS books and includes a rare book room that features books over $50 and are generally priced at ½ of online prices. The company has not offered on-line sales, but there is a strong potential to do so. The selection and in many cases the quality is comparable to franchise books stores. The owners thoroughly love the book business although they run their operation passively from out of state.
THE LOCATION
The location is ideal, situated on Idaho Falls’ main thoroughfare and in the main regional shopping district for Idaho Falls and Eastern Idaho. A popular LDS bookstore located in the same complex provides a nice synergy for customers to compare books and prices.
