THE COMPANY This electrical testing and service company contracts with large companies and builders to test and maintain their electrical systems. Federal law requires the services provided as the testing is not only for reliability but for safety. Normal backlog of work is over $150,000. The company has been in operation since 1995. THE PRODUCTS The company provides service in twelve western states from an office in Southwest Idaho The company goes onsite for field testing for new construction or to troubleshoot a problem with electrical distribution in an existing facility. If replacement parts are needed to bring a facility to standard, the company provides and installs the equipment. Testing includes ground fault testing, thermograph testing and fiber optic cable testing. CUSTOMER BASE The customer base is varied with services required at a wide range of businesses from computer chip manufacturers to hospitals, municipalities, mines and any substantial user of electrical power. Mining is currently a growth industry and the company has the mobile resources to service those customers in their remote locations. COMPETITION There is no local competition for this business. Competitors for jobs must send their people out of the larger cities on the West Coast. This produces a built-in advantage in contracting work in the Intermountain West.

THE IDEAL BUYER The ideal buyer would be a person who has mechanical aptitude and likes a varied workplace with both inside and outside work. Electrical experience is not necessary or required although management and sales skills would be a plus. THE REASON FOR SELLING The owner is looking to reduce his travel and devote more time to another business that he owns. He is willing to stay for an extended period of time and train a new owner. He would be available for up to 10 years to work as contract labor on any project that a new buyer may not have been trained on.
