This tree service company is not your typical operation that spends its days trimming back tree branches at little old ladies houses. This company has made a name for itself as the big boy the company that can handle the massive clearing projects that builders typically need to prep a lot for construction.
Roughly 75% of revenue comes from these large clearing projects, with the remainder coming from residential trimming jobs and the sale of wood they have removed from the sites.
The company has relationships with several builders in their county, as well as surrounding counties, that contract them to clear lots. Trees are primarily pecan and oak pecan wood is chopped and sold to restaurants for smoking and oak is chopped and sold as firewood via newspaper ads in the winter.
This is a very low overhead operation monthly expenses average $4,500. That covers $1,000 on fuel, $2,800 on labor and another $700 for miscellaneous expenses that come up.
