This established business is comprised of five divisions: Building Materials; Hardware; “Light” Construction Equipment, Sales & Rentals; Residential Lighting Fixtures, Fireplace Equipment & Home Decor Products; and Ready-Mix Concrete. The Company has been servicing and supplying the construction industry for more than 60 years and offers a unique one-stop shopping concept for its contractor and do-it-yourself customers. Approximately 65% of its sales volume is to contractors and commercial accounts, and 35% to “do-it-yourselfers” and retail cash customers. Over the years their product mix has changed to take advantage of current market trends and needs. They are currently recognized as one of the largest, most complete hardscaping centers (paving stones, etc. – part of the Company’s Building Materials Division) in the Delaware Valley. Because of their one-stop shopping concept, sales since 2002 have steadily increased: Building Materials up 41%; Hardware up 16%; Equipment & Rentals up 32%; and Lighting & Home Decor up 43%. (Ready-Mix Concrete was new in 2003.) Many of the Company’s sales personnel have contracting experience and, unlike the Company’s competitors, are thereby able to offer customers the full scope of technical advice and proper product application. Ample parking, speed of service, product and service mix, and presence in the same central location has and will continue to sustain this Company’s ongoing growth.
There are a number of growth strategies the company is either implementing or considering, including: expanding its very successful hardscaping business; opening a new branch operation with an extended sales goal of $5 - $6 million; expanding its rental business to include party and outdoor function equipment; and further developing its exclusive Delaware distributorship of Natural Stone Pavers.
